Me and Jez went to see the brilliant CSS last night at Liverpool Academy. Support was from Metromony, we missed the first half but they were just as good as last time I saw them. CSS handed out balloons, covered us all in fake snow and walked on to stage dressed as Christmas presents! They even gave us a dancing Christmas tree to teach us some dance moves, this is one band I will definitely be going to see again.
Had a most excellent weekend in Cambridge! Popped in to The Regal, probably the finest pub in the south of England. If you’re ever passing you should try to make a visit, and when you’re done get yourself round to Kambar for the indie….
My turn to pick a mountain this month, so I elected for Skiddaw. I don’t know if one of us has been scoring adverse karma recently or what but the weather was.. uhm.. spectacular! 70mph plus winds mixed in with the sharpest hail I’ve ever know. The photo is at the summit, crouching behind a 2 foot shelter to avoid the worst of it. I won’t be forgetting that one in a hurry
I’m the one in the buff, ha ha. Been wanting to use that one for ages!
Made a big step today, put in an offer on a house and it was accepted! One stop closer to having my own place. Now I’ve never done this before so it’s all new on me. I managed to get a few grand knocked off the price of the house (every bit helps when we’re on the edge of a house market downturn!) and eventually we settled on a price everyone was happy with. Next job is to get a solicitor and finalise a mortgage.
Off to see NYPC tonight, so all in all a good day!
The Long Blondes are recording the difficult second album and they’ve tarted up their website a bit until the new artwork is ready. They even have a shop with t-shirts, one for each day of the week!
I’m pretty sure everyone who knows me would disagree with most of the following….
You’re the soul of the band, with you’re rocking heavy bass lines providing a whole new personality to the songs. You rock, there’s no doubt about that, you stand on stage confidently hiding your feelings behind a straight face. you’re extremely funny, and a lovely person and you adore animals!
Another successful weekend, this one in Dublin with the lads. Loads of Guinness was drunk, Matt discovered he could accurately impersonate an Irish Pelican crossing and some people couldn’t find the river at 4am. I think the rest is probably best kept secret
I only managed the one good photo, above. Kev has some to view here.
